• What other ingredients can be minced by the Garlic Twist?
  • The Garlic Twist can be used to mince ginger, olive, chili pepper, shallot, certain herbs and nuts etc. Feel free to try it with any ingredient – we have yet to learn of an instance where the Garlic Twist is damaged.
• Are the mincing teeth sharp?
  • Sharp enough to mince, but not sharp enough to cause harm
• How hard is it to twist-turn the Garlic Twist 3 (GT3) for mincing?
  • We are aware that some people with weak wrists have had problems using our older version of the Garlic Twist (GT2). Still, 90% of 300+testers from the Cooking Club of America indicated that they would recommend this product to other members. Furthermore, with much improved ergonomics and leverage in the newest GT3, we have yet to receive any negative feedback from the users.
• I can't quite gather the mincing garlic into the two neat triangles shown in the instruction.
  • Normally, when you mince the garlic, you are pushing the garlic through the rows of teeth. To form the two triangles, instead of pushing your ingredients through the teeth, twist one direction until you form two triangles. Then, twist the opposite direction to compact your ingredients and gather the garlic off the teeth. Finally, turn again to push the ingredients to the middle. • Is the Garlic Twist dishwasher safe?
  • Yes, the Garlic Twist is dishwasher safe -- just put it upside down on the top rack. Most users find it more convenient to just rinse clean under the faucet and let air-dry.

Hints:

Make sure you're gathering the minced bits into triangles!! (see above)

For quick removal of the garlic peel, use the bottom of the Garlic Twist to pound loose the garlic skin. Again, see the demo video for a demonstration

Try mincing both garlic and ginger together inside the GT3 for authentic Asian flavors

For ginger, pre-peel the skin and slice across the grain into smaller pieces before twisting.

Throw some nuts in, and you have quick toppings for ice cream or salad

Or try olives for tapenade
